The Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML) Laboratory is a specialized computing facility established to support teaching, learning, research, and innovation in the domains of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Analytics, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing. The laboratory provides students with a practical environment to design, develop, train, evaluate, and deploy intelligent systems capable of solving real-world engineering and societal problems.
The laboratory is equipped with 60 Intel Core (i7-6700) Processor systems connected through a high-speed Local Area Network (LAN) and supported by a centralized data center that enables efficient resource sharing and access to computational facilities. The laboratory operates in a fully air-conditioned environment with uninterrupted internet connectivity and a 20 KVA power backup system to ensure continuous academic and research activities.
To facilitate modern AI development, the laboratory provides access to industry-standard software platforms and frameworks including Python, Anaconda, Jupyter Notebook, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, OpenCV, VirtualBox, and other advanced AI tools. These resources enable learners to perform data preprocessing, feature engineering, model development, performance evaluation, visualization, and deployment of machine learning and deep learning solutions.
The AI & ML Laboratory offers hands-on experience in supervised and unsupervised learning, neural networks, deep learning architectures, predictive analytics, computer vision systems, natural language processing applications, and intelligent automation. The facility also supports research and innovation activities in emerging areas such as Generative AI, Explainable AI, Reinforcement Learning, and Data-Driven Decision Making.
The primary objective of the laboratory is to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical implementation by enabling students to develop intelligent solutions, analyze complex datasets, identify meaningful patterns, and build AI-enabled applications that address contemporary technological challenges.
