Name of the Lab      Cloud Computing Security Laboratory
Year of Establishment2024
Venue     Oxford Block
Room No2108
Area84.69 Sq.m
Faculty In-charge  Mr.S.Manikandan, Assistant Professor/CSE
Lab Technician      Mrs.K.Divyabharathi

The Cloud Computing and Security Laboratory is a specialized computing facility designed to provide students with practical exposure to cloud technologies, virtualization platforms, cybersecurity principles, and secure computing environments. The laboratory enables learners to develop, deploy, manage, and secure cloud-based applications while gaining hands-on experience in modern cloud infrastructure and information security practices.

The laboratory supports practical sessions for courses such as Cloud Computing, Cloud Services Management, Software Defined Networks, Data Science Laboratory, Compiler Design, UI & UX Design, Digital Marketing, and Ethics and AI, thereby providing a multidisciplinary environment for learning emerging technologies. Students are trained in cloud service models, virtualization techniques, network management, secure application deployment, data protection mechanisms, and security best practices in distributed computing environments.

The facility is equipped with 33 computer systems consisting of HP monitors and Dell Core i5 processors, supported by a 5 KVA UPS for uninterrupted operation. The laboratory provides a reliable computing environment for conducting experiments related to cloud platforms, virtual machines, network configuration, data analytics, secure software development, and AI-enabled applications.

To facilitate practical learning, the laboratory is equipped with industry-relevant software tools including VirtualBox, Python, Anaconda, NetBeans IDE, Code::Blocks IDE, and Figma. These tools enable students to create virtualized environments, develop cloud-based solutions, perform data analysis, design user interfaces, implement secure applications, and explore emerging computing paradigms.

The primary objective of the Cloud Computing and Security Laboratory is to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world implementation by providing hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure management, cybersecurity practices, virtualization technologies, network services, and secure application development. The laboratory also promotes innovation, research, and skill development in emerging domains such as cloud-native computing, software-defined networking, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation technologies.
