The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of AAA College of Engineering and Technology, in association with the IETE Student Forum, organized a Guest Lecture on “Industrial Automation Using PLC” on 01.09.2025 (Monday) at Thomas Alva Edison Hall, Cambridge Block.

The session began with a warm welcome, presided over by Dr. C. Senthil Kumar, Professor & Head / EEE. The resource person of the day was Mr. S. Ravi, B.E., Technical Head, Skill Development and Learning Centre, Madurai, who shared his rich expertise in the field of automation.

During the lecture, Mr. S. Ravi highlighted the importance of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) in modern industries and explained their role in process automation, robotics, and smart manufacturing. He also elaborated on the significance of PLCs in improving productivity, reducing human errors, and enabling Industry 4.0 practices. The session provided practical insights into the integration of automation technologies with real-time industrial applications.

The students actively participated in the interaction session, where they raised questions on industrial practices and future opportunities in automation. The lecture enriched the participants with knowledge of cutting-edge technologies and motivated them to pursue careers in industrial automation.

At the conclusion of the program, NPTEL achievers and Quiz winners from the department were honored with mementos, which added further encouragement to student learning and participation.
