The Department of Civil Engineering organized a Certificate Course on “STAAD.Pro with Hands-on Training” from 16/12/2025 to 20/12/2025 in the Civil Department CAD Laboratory. Dr. B. Jegatheeswaran and Mr. Pavithran served as the resource persons for the programme. The course was offered to final year Civil Engineering students with the objective of providing practical exposure to structural modelling, analysis, and design using STAAD.Pro software.

During the five-day programme, participants gained hands-on experience in creating structural models, defining material properties and loads, performing structural analysis, and interpreting analysis results for practical engineering applications. The programme helped students strengthen their understanding of real-time structural analysis and industry-oriented software skills. The course concluded with an interactive feedback session, where students expressed that the training significantly enhanced their confidence and proficiency in using STAAD.Pro for structural engineering applications.
