Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science organised an insightful interactive session titled “From Campus to Creative: A Conversation on Industry Design,” featuring Mr. N. R. Suresh Babu, the Designing Director of Zoho, Tenkasi. Drawing over 25 years of expertise in UI/UX, Mr. Suresh Babu emphasized that future career success depends heavily on practical, hands-on skills and real-world problem-solving rather than academic qualifications alone. He highlighted the expanding scope of the design field, noting that as digital applications proliferate, the demand for intuitive and visually appealing interfaces will continue to rise. Addressing concerns about automation, he clarified that while Artificial Intelligence will serve as a powerful assisting tool to speed up tasks, it cannot replace human designers because it lacks the core elements of empathy, emotional intelligence, and original creativity. The session concluded with an encouraging note on professional development and the announcement of current internship opportunities in the UI/UX domain at Zoho, reinforcing the importance of continuous skill acquisition in an evolving technological landscape.
