The NSS Unit of AAACET, in association with the Food Safety Department, Virudhunagar, organized a Food Safety Awareness Program on 03 March 2026 at the college premises. The program aimed to sensitize students to the growing concerns of food adulteration and to equip them with practical knowledge to identify adulterated food products. The session was conducted by Mr.B.Jothibasu, Food Safety Officer, Virudhunagar, delivering an insightful and interactive lecture. Various types of adulteration commonly found in food items such as milk, spices, oils, and grains were explained. Demonstrations showcased simple household techniques that can be used to detect adulteration. Students actively participated in the session, raising questions and sharing their observations, which made the program highly engaging. The resource person emphasized the importance of consumer awareness in ensuring food safety and highlighted the role of youth in spreading knowledge about safe consumption practices. The theme of the program was connected to Sustainable Development Goals 3 and 12, encouraging students to adopt responsible habits that contribute to a healthier society. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Physical Director, Mr.M.Veerukkannan, appreciating the efforts of the Food Safety Department and the active involvement of students.
