The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized the Mechanical Engineering Association Inauguration on 22 June 2026.

The programme commenced with Tamil Thaai Vazhthu, followed by the traditional lighting of the Kuthuvilaku. Mr. Sangiliraja J., Final Year Mechanical Engineering student, delivered the welcome address and warmly welcomed the gathering.

Dr. M. Sekar, Principal, delivered the felicitation address, while Dr. S. S. Saravanakumar, Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, formally inaugurated the Association and addressed the students. The Association Office Bearers for the academic year 2026–2027 were introduced by Dr. M. Kaliraj, Association Coordinator.

The Chief Guest, Mr. G. Yashwant, Entrepreneurship Development Executive, Hand in Hand Academy for Social Entrepreneurship, Kancheepuram, delivered an inspiring keynote address on entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, and career opportunities. He emphasized the importance of cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset, enhancing leadership qualities, embracing innovation, and developing the skills required to meet future industry challenges. He also motivated the students to explore entrepreneurship as a promising career path and to contribute to society through innovative and sustainable solutions.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, the management, faculty members, students, and all those who contributed to the successful organization of the event.
