The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has been recognized as a Research Centre by Centre for Research, Anna University, Chennai.

The department offers research opportunities in Smart Grid Technologies, Renewable Energy Systems, Industrial IoT, Power Electronics, Electric Vehicles, Embedded Systems, Automation, and Intelligent Control Systems with modern laboratories, various Centre of Excellences, infrastructure and industry collaboration support, to draft proposals about industrial and societal based challenges to the various government funding agencies.
