The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), organized a One-day Workshop titled ‘Entrepreneurship opportunities in HVAC sector.’ The session took place on November 25, 2023, at 10.00 a.m.

Dr.R.Selvabharathi, HoD/MECH, presided over the event. The session commenced with a welcome address from Mr. M. Sivasankar, EDC Coordinator.

Mr.N.kannan, Proprietor, NK Enterprises, Virudhunagar, served as the resource person for the session. He initiated the session by highlighting his expertise and experience in the field of entrepreneurial opportunities in the HVAC sector. The speaker guided the students about recent trends in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. He provides information regarding HVAC systems, heat exchangers, types of compressors and their working. Also, he elaborates heat load calculation by using thermal software (Thermals).  

In the afternoon session, he explained fields of utilizations and also the consumption of energy by the systems. He stressed upon the global warming potential refrigerants and alternate long-time solutions. He guided the young minds to start using natural refrigerants in refrigeration and air conditioning systems to achieve greener and sustainable future. He ended the session with a thought-provoking note “Nature has solution for every problem and is the source of ultimate technology”.

The session wrapped up with a dynamic question-and-answer session, where participants actively interacted with the speaker, posing insightful questions and engaging in meaningful discussions.

A total of 52 students participated in the session. The event drew to a close at 04.30 p.m.
