The Department of Civil Engineering organised a guest lecture on ‘The Power of Civil Engineering Integration with Computer Technologies & Placement Readiness for Elite Companies” on 21.03.2025 in the Sir Isaac Newton Seminar Hall.
All the IV year Civil Engineering students participated in this guest lecture. The speaker was Mr.J.S.Sukumar, an Industry Institute Interactive Consultant for Red Hat Linux from Itech
Academy.
During the lecture, the speaker provided an overview of various professional certification courses and highlighted their importance for getting placements in elite companies.He also highlighted the importance of the applications of the various Civil Engineering softwares, integration of computer technologies in Civil Engineering and obtaining patents.He gave useful tips on facing interview with proper dress code and grooming.He encouraged the students to develop their skill set by undergoing courses on Advanced Excel and Civil Engineering Softwares as it is mandated by the elite companies.He advised them to search for the list of elite/top level companies, for knowing the requirements of the companies and equip accordingly, to get higher salary packages above 7 LPA.He suggested that each student can give a presentation about the elite companies and competitions can be conducted for the usage of softwares.

Outcomes:

At the end of the lecture, the students were able to,
 know about the various professional certificate courses available worldwide.
 know about the importance of Civil Engineering softwares, integration of computer technologies in Civil Engineering, obtaining patents and developing skill set

 get useful tips to prepare for interviews and get placed in elite companies.
