Women’s Day Celebration on 08.03.2024

The Women Empowerment Cell and Harassment Prevention Committee of AAA College of Engineering and Technology organized a women’s day celebration program in associated with  INNER WHEEL CLUB of Sivakasi on 08-03-2024 from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm at Kamarajar Auditorium, Oxford Block for all the girls students and lady faculty members. The program was organized by Mrs. V. Chandra, AP/EEE, and Mrs.S.Kayathri, AP/Civil.

The Women’s Day Celebration was a resounding success, bringing together students, faculty, and staff to commemorate the achievements of women and advocate for gender equality. The event aimed to inspire, empower, and celebrate the contributions of women in the field of engineering and beyond. In the morning our committee organized an event- “Idea Presentation” on the topic of “Women Safety Development and Prevention Measures” for female students to explore their ideas and the prize winners were honoured by distributing certificates from the chief guest.

The program started with Tamil Thai Vazhthu. The welcome address was given by Ms.A.M.Janani from III ECE. Ms. Vinitha, III EEE, gave the Chief Guest introduction. Mrs.N.Thenmoezhi, M.E.,(Ph.D), Chairperson of Women Empowerment Cell honoured the chief guest with a shawl and memento—the Chief Guest Mrs.D.Kalaiselvi, B.A.B.L, Advocate, Sivakasi delivered the session. She delivered the speech that Women have the right to live free from violence and coercion, whether it be domestic abuse, sexual harassment, or harmful traditional practices. They have the right to control their bodies, make choices about their reproductive health, and access comprehensive healthcare services without stigma or discrimination. The Women’s Day Celebration at AAACET served as a platform to celebrate the achievements of women in engineering while advocating for gender equality and diversity in the STEM fields. The event fostered a sense of community, empowerment, and solidarity among participants, reaffirming the college’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and excellence in education.

Our Girl students eagerly participated and showed their talent and excellence in Idea Hackathon and cultural events like Bharathanatiyam, Drama, Silambham etc. Ms.G.Arulharishma from IV ECE delivered the vote of thanks. The program ended with the National Anthem. All department girl students and faculty members have participated in this program.
