Objective of the Programme

The objective of this Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was to enhance the knowledge and technical skills of faculty members in data analytics and visualization using Microsoft Power BI. The programme aimed to provide hands-on experience in data transformation, modeling, and dashboard development, thereby aligning academic practices with industry requirements.

Programme Overview

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a Five-Day Faculty Development Programme on “Microsoft Power BI – Data Analyst Associate” from 18th to 22nd August 2025 in association with ICT Academy.

The programme was inaugurated with a formal session including welcome address, chief guest introduction, and presidential address. The sessions were handled by Mr. M.A. Mohamed Fakrudeen, who delivered comprehensive and interactive training throughout the programme.

The FDP covered the following key areas:

  • Introduction to Power BI and fundamentals of data analytics
  • Data collection, cleaning, and transformation using Power Query
  • Data modeling and DAX expressions for analytical processing
  • Visualization techniques and interactive dashboard creation
  • Case studies and real-time project implementation

The sessions were designed to provide both conceptual understanding and practical exposure. Faculty members and research scholars actively participated and gained hands-on experience in building business intelligence solutions using Power BI.
