The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC), in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a session titled ‘Panel Discussion with Enablers of Innovation and the Start-up Ecosystem in the Region.’ The session took place on August 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.

Dr. G. Vairamuthu, President of IIC, presided over the event. The session commenced with a welcome address from Mr. M. Sivasankar, EDC Coordinator. Following the welcome address, Ms. M. Sarojadevi, a third-year student in Civil Engineering, introduced the esteemed speaker.

Mrs. R. Tamil Selvi, an accomplished entrepreneur and proprietor of Tamil Foods, served as the resource person for the session. Mrs. Tamil Selvi initiated the session by engaging the participants in an interactive discussion about entrepreneurship. She elucidated the fundamental attitudes that entrepreneurs should cultivate. Drawing upon the example of IDAYAM Oil Company, she elaborated on their journey to success in the market. Additionally, Mrs. Tamil Selvi candidly shared the challenges she encountered while starting her own business and how those challenges were overcome.

The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, during which participants engaged with the speaker. Expressing gratitude on behalf of the organizers, Ms. J. Jesintha, a third-year student in Civil Engineering, delivered a vote of thanks.

A total of 41 students from various departments participated in the session. The event drew to a close at 12:30 p.m. with the rendition of the national anthem.
