Metrology is a science of measurement. The metrology laboratory serves to give foundational knowledge on the unit and measure quantity of matter. The experiments conducted in this lab are with Tool Maker’s Microscope, Comparator, Sine Bar, Gear Tooth Vernier Calliper, Floating gauge Micrometer, Coordinate Measuring Machine, Surface Finish Measuring Equipment, Vernier Height Gauge, Bore diameter measurement using telescope gauge , Bore diameter measurement using micrometer, Force Measurement, Torque Measurement, Temperature measurement and Autocollimator. By conducting these experiments, the students get basic knowledge of linear measurement, angular measurement, form measurement, and surface finish measurement. By which the students will be able to get application knowledge on calibration and inspection of manufactured components.
