The NSS Unit of AAACET, in collaboration with YI Sivakasi, successfully conducted a Child Abuse Awareness Program in Sanarpatti Village on November 14, 2024. The core objective of this initiative was to enlighten the residents about the severe consequences of child abuse and to introduce them to the crucial 1098 Child line helpline, thereby empowering the community to protect children and foster a safer environment. The awareness skit performed by the NSS volunteers portrayed the long-term detrimental effects of child abuse on children’s development, education, and overall well-being. Ms.Manochitra, Yuva Chair of the YI Sivakasi Chapter, led highly interactive sessions. She engaged directly with the villagers, facilitating discussions on various aspects of child abuse, clarifying misconceptions, and emphasizing the importance of reporting such incidents. A key component of these sessions was the clear introduction and promotion of the 1098 Childline helpline, educating villagers on how and when to utilize this vital resource for reporting abuse and seeking assistance for children in need. The program was coordinated by NSS Coordinator Mr. S. Balamurugan.
