The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a Parents–Teachers Meeting for all second-year and third-year students on 13.09.2025.
Mr. M. S. Kalyana Sundaram, Assistant Professor/EEE, welcomed the parents and initiated the session. Dr. C. Senthil Kumar, Professor and Head/EEE, addressed the gathering and presented the Vision and Mission of the Institution and the Department. He provided an overview of the faculty competency, highlighting the qualifications of members with Ph.D. degrees and those pursuing doctoral research. He also elaborated on the infrastructure facilities, laboratories, and resources available to support effective teaching–learning. Furthermore, he outlined the various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities organized by the Department and the Institution to enhance students’ overall development.
He highlighted the wide range of opportunities available in core electrical companies and emphasized their relevance to student placements. He also briefed the parents on the achievements of the Department, programs organized, and industry visits conducted during the academic year 2024–2025 (even semester). The proctors of each batch were formally introduced to the parents. Further, he instructed the faculty to reach out to the parents who could not attend the meeting and requested that updated mobile numbers and addresses be recorded in the proctor diary for effective communication.
In order to enhance student performance, the Head of the Department emphasized that students should avoid taking frequent leave from regular academic activities. He requested the parents to motivate and guide their wards to achieve better academic outcomes. He also informed them about the academic performance awards offered by the Institution. Students who secure a University rank in Anna University examinations will be refunded the full tuition fee paid for the course. Additionally, students who obtain a GPA of 9.0 or above in the end-semester examinations will be awarded a cash prize of ₹10,000/-.
He concluded his address by seeking the full cooperation of the parents for the enhancement of student progress and the growth of the Institution. He also expressed gratitude to all the parents for their active participation in the meeting. The parents appreciated the initiatives taken by the Department for the holistic development of the students and shared their valuable feedback on the activities conducted. The meeting concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Mr. P. Nirmal Kumar, followed by refreshments.
