GUEST LECTURE ON SECURING THE FUTURE: CYBER SECURITY SKILLS & STUDYING ABROAD on 20-01-2025

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security), AAA College of Engineering and Technology, successfully organized a Guest Lecture on the topic “Securing the Future: Cyber Security Skills & Studying Abroad” on Tuesday, 20 January 2026, at 11:00 A.M. in the Sir C. V. Raman Seminar Hall, Cambridge Block (Third Floor).

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. P. Elamparithi, Head of the Department, CSE (Cyber Security), who warmly welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of industry interaction and global exposure for students in the rapidly evolving field of cyber security.

This was followed by a felicitation address by Dr. P. Devabalan, Dean / DRiD, who emphasized the need for continuous skill development, research orientation, and international perspectives to succeed in the cyber security domain.

The introduction to the Chief Guest was delivered by Ms. S. Sandeepa, III Year, Department of CSE (Cyber Security), who briefed the audience about the guest’s academic background, professional achievements, and his journey as a proud alumnus of AAA College of Engineering and Technology.

The session was delivered by Mr. Kishore Hariram, Penetration Tester at Fidelity Investments, Ireland, who is also a distinguished alumnus of AAA College of Engineering and Technology. The program was organized with the objective of exposing students to current industry expectations in cyber security and to provide guidance on higher education and career opportunities abroad.

Mr. Kishore Hariram shared his professional journey from being a student of AAA College to working in an international organization. He elaborated on essential cyber security skills such as penetration testing, ethical hacking, networking fundamentals, scripting, certifications, and continuous learning. He also discussed real-world cyber security challenges, industry trends, and the importance of practical exposure alongside academic knowledge.

In addition, the resource person provided valuable insights into studying abroad, including admission requirements, skill preparation, certifications, and career planning for students aspiring to pursue higher education overseas. The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating in the question-and-answer segment and seeking career guidance.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. S. P. Deepika, III Year, Department of CSE (Cyber Security), who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, management, faculty members, coordinators, and students for making the event a grand success.

The guest lecture was organized and coordinated by Mr. S. Balamurugan, AP/Cyber, and Mrs. R. Madhu Keerthana, AP/Cyber.

The event concluded successfully with positive feedback from students and faculty members. The lecture was highly informative, motivating, and beneficial in shaping students’ career perspectives in the field of cyber security with a global outlook.
