A five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “AI Driven Innovations in Power Systems and Power Electronics” was organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, AAA College of Engineering and Technology, Sivakasi, from 15.12.2025 to 19.12.2025 at the college campus.
The inaugural function was presided over by the Principal, Dr. Sekar, who emphasized the importance of integrating Artificial Intelligence with core electrical engineering domains. The Head of the Department, Professor, Dr. C. Senthil Kumar, delivered the welcome address and offered his felicitations to the participants. Dr. N.B. Muthu Selvan, Professor, SSN College of Engineering, Chennai, presided as the Chief Guest and delivered an insightful address on emerging AI applications in power systems and power electronics, highlighting current research trends and future opportunities.
The FDP featured technical sessions conducted by eminent academicians and industry experts, focusing on AI-based techniques applied to power system operation, control, forecasting, and power electronic converters. Faculty members from various institutions actively participated and gained hands-on exposure to advanced AI tools and methodologies. Approximately 25 faculty members from different colleges took part in the programme and benefited from the technical deliberations. On the valedictory day, certificates were distributed to all the participants. The programme served as a valuable platform to understand the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in modern power engineering, fostering research-oriented thinking and innovative teaching practices. The FDP was successfully coordinated by Mrs. Sarojini and Mrs. Maheswari, faculty members of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
