1. Introduction
The Department of Civil Engineering, in association with the Civil Engineering Students Association (CESA), organized the “Inauguration of Association and GATE/Government Examination Coaching” along with a Guest Lecture on Cement & Building Products on 6th August 2025. The event commenced with the introduction of the CESA office bearers for the academic year 2025–2026 by Mr. S. Keerthipriyan, Assistant Professor/Civil & Association In-charge. The association’s planned activities for the academic year were also presented.
2. Guest Lecture Details

Er. M. Sujay, B.E. (Alumnus – 2019–2023 Batch)
Mobile Lab Engineer, Ultratech Cements, Theni
As an alumnus of the institution, Er. Sujay inspired students by sharing his academic and professional journey. His lecture covered:
- Insights into cement and building materials.
- Importance of codebooks in civil engineering practice.
- Placement opportunities in software and core sectors.
- Differences between software roles and site work.
- Tips on interview preparation and goal setting.
His motivational approach encouraged students to pursue their career ambitions with clarity and confidence.
3. Organization & Support
The event was successfully coordinated by Mr. S. Keerthipriyan and Mrs. M. Jasmine Jayakodi, with the support of Civil Engineering faculty members and active participation from students.
Outcome:
The program successfully combined the inauguration of the association with an insightful guest lecture, enhancing students’ technical knowledge and motivating them for academic and professional excellence.
