The Department of Civil Engineering organized a 5-day Communication & Soft Skill Training Program aimed at enhancing students’ communication abilities, self-confidence, and employability skills. The sessions were conducted by experts from i-Tech Academy, Tirunelveli – Mr. M. Chellapa (Senior Corporate Trainer & Financial Consultant), Mrs. C. Meena (Soft Skills Trainer & Communication Coach), and Mr. D. Shree Murugan (Financial Consultant & Soft Skills Trainer).
The program covered a range of topics:
- Day 1: Ice-breaker activities, motivation, and self-introduction.
- Day 2: Communication skills with emphasis on non-verbal aspects.
- Day 3: SWOT analysis and presentation skills.
- Day 4: Grooming, professional etiquette, and interpersonal skills.
- Day 5: Role play and speaking activities.
Objectives included improving verbal and non-verbal communication, building self-confidence, identifying personal strengths and weaknesses, enhancing presentation skills, and developing professional grooming habits.
Outcomes of the training demonstrated students’ improved confidence, communication proficiency, presentation delivery, interpersonal skills, and professionalism. The interactive sessions, motivational talks, and hands-on activities such as role plays and group discussions created an engaging learning atmosphere. Students reported significant gains in articulation, body language, and self-awareness.
