Drug free tn & nmba awareness rally: march from campus to community on 18-02-2026

On February 18, 2026, the Anti-Drug Club and NSS Unit of AAACET, in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Drug Administration Department, Virudhunagar, conducted a Drug Awareness Rally from the college campus to Amathur village. The rally was officially inaugurated by Mr.Ramsundar, Tahsildar and Mr.Murugan, Revenue Inspector, whose presence underscored the strong administrative commitment to building a narcotics-free society. Their support highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in combating substance abuse. Throughout the march, NSS volunteers actively engaged the public by displaying placards and banners that conveyed the devastating health, social, and economic consequences of drug addiction. The messages were designed to resonate with diverse audiences, ensuring maximum awareness among the local community. A pivotal highlight of the rally was the promotion of the Drug Free TN mobile application, a government initiative enabling citizens to lodge anonymous complaints against drug-related activities. Mr.M.Veerukkannan, Anti-Drug Club Coordinator, provided a live technical demonstration of the app, encouraging villagers to adopt this digital tool as a safeguard for their community. At the conclusion of the rally, all volunteers and participants took the Drug Awareness Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to a healthier, drug-free future. This pledge was aligned with the national campaign Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA), thereby integrating local efforts with the broader vision of a drug-free India.
