The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of AAACET organized field trip to Vinayaka Fireworks at Sengampalampatti on 08.1.2020 (Wednesday) to identify the problems in Fireworks Industry. 60 students and 4 faculty members from different departments participated in the field trip. During the visit, the students and faculty were guided by the industry personnel. They observed the functioning of different sections of the industry – Chemical Mixing Section, Ground Crackers Manufacturing section, Fancy Crackers Manufacturing Section and Packaging Section.  They discussed the idea of Green Crackers which will greatly reduce the environment pollution. The idea could be implemented by reducing the level of barium nitrate. The faculty gave awareness to the workers regarding the safety precautions to be followed while handling the chemicals. Few students gave the idea of implementing automation of the mixing process which is currently being done manually. Also, the design of user friendly gloves for the workers is an identified problem.
