The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, AAA College of Engineering and Technology, Sivakasi successfully facilitated the participation of selected final-year EEE students in a five-day Rooftop Solar Supervisors Training Programme conducted under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Tata Power Company Ltd. The students were nominated through a structured and merit-based selection process. The programme was designed to strengthen their technical knowledge, practical skills, and overall understanding of renewable energy and sustainable technologies.
Organized as part of Tata’s CSR initiative and delivered through theTata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI), the training programme provided a comprehensive learning experience combining theoretical concepts with extensive hands-on practice. Students actively engaged in expert-led sessions, interactive discussions, and practical training modules focused on rooftop solar photovoltaic systems. The programme emphasized real-world applications, enabling participants to bridge the gap between academic learning and current industry practices in the energy sector.
During the training, students gained valuable exposure to solar panel installation techniques, system operation, maintenance practices, and safety standards followed in the industry. The hands-on training sessions conducted by industry experts enhanced their confidence and technical competency, making them better prepared for careers in the renewable energy sector. The programme also focused on improving employability skills by equipping students with job-oriented knowledge and practical experience.
In addition, the programme created awareness about the importance of clean and sustainable energy solutions in addressing current environmental challenges. It encouraged students to explore innovative approaches in the field of renewable energy and motivated them to contribute towards a greener and more sustainable future. The interactive nature of the sessions also helped in improving teamwork, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities among the participants.
Upon successful completion of the programme, students received a joint certification from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and Tata Power, adding significant value to their professional credentials. The training programme proved to be highly beneficial in enriching students technical expertise, promoting sustainable energy awareness, and preparing them to meet the evolving demands of the energy industry.
