The Department of Science and Humanities organized a Motivational Talk for the First-Year Engineering Students (2025–2029 Batch). The program, titled “From Classroom to Career: The Role of Professional Bodies,” was held on August 19, 2025, at 1:15 p.m. in the Kamarajar Auditorium, Oxford Block. Mrs. G. A. Deva Priya, Assistant Professor of English, delivered the Welcome Address. Dr. K. Anand, Academic Coordinator, honored the Chief Guest, and Dr. S. Kiruthiga Deepa, Academic Coordinator, introduced the Chief Guest.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. S. Arumuga Perumal, Director of Riyasaa Labs and Distinguished Professor of Computer Science and Research, Crown University International Chartered Inc., USA, who shared thought-provoking insights on technology and the importance of professional bodies. Students learned that professional bodies are organized associations that represent and regulate members of a specific profession. These bodies set standards for knowledge, ethics, and performance. Dr. Perumal highlighted two professional bodies—IEEE and IETE—which provide funding for seminars, workshops, and conferences, as well as publish research papers. The students participated enthusiastically and gained valuable knowledge about professional bodies and their role in career development. The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. P. Naveen Kumar, Assistant Professor of Chemistry.
