The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering successfully conducted a six-day Certificate Course titled “Hands-on Practice in Proteus Simulation and PCB Fabrication” from 15.12.2025 to 20.12.2025 for the Second Year EEE students. The course was handled by Dr. N. Pothirasan, Proprietor of Hasha Medicare, Rajapalayam, who served as the resource person. The course was inaugurated by the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. C. Senthil Kumar, who emphasized the importance of understanding electronics hardware fundamentals. He highlighted that PCB designing is an essential skill and an art, and stressed that every budding electrical engineer must acquire hands-on knowledge in designing and fabricating electronic circuits to meet industry expectations.
On the first day, the course focused on the basics of electrical and electronic components, their functions, and their relevance in PCB design. Subsequently, students were introduced to Proteus software, where they were trained to simulate various electronic circuits under the guidance of the resource person. The program also included extensive hands-on sessions, enabling students to gain practical experience in PCB layout design and fabrication techniques. Throughout the course, students actively participated and demonstrated keen interest in learning simulation tools and real-time hardware implementation.
