The Department of Mechanical Engineering, AAA College of Engineering and Technology, Sivakasi, in association with the SAE INDIA Collegiate Club, organized a three-day Hands-on Training Program on Car AC & Wheel Balancer for Mechanical Engineering students from 27.02.2026 , 28.02.2026 & 02.03.2026 at Thomas Alva Edison Hall, AAA College of Engineering and Technology.
The objective of the program was to provide students with practical exposure and technical knowledge in automobile air conditioning systems and wheel balancing techniques, which are essential in modern automobile servicing and maintenance.
On Day 1 (27.02.2026), the session was handled by Mr. A. Vignesh Moorthy Pandian, Faculty In-charge – Centre of Excellence CAR and Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering. During the session, he explained the fundamentals of Automobile Air Conditioning systems, including the working principles, major components, and operational mechanisms of Car AC systems. Students were introduced to the basic structure and functioning of automotive air conditioning systems used in modern vehicles.
On Day 2 (28.02.2026), the session was conducted by Mr. M. Nagendran, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering. The session focused on Wheel Balancer technology. He explained the importance of wheel balancing in automobiles, the types of wheel imbalance such as static imbalance and dynamic imbalance, and their effects on vehicle stability, tyre wear, steering control, and overall vehicle performance. Students also gained insights into the working principle and operation of wheel balancing equipment used in automobile service centers.
On Day 3 (02.03.2026), the session was handled by Mr. Karthick from MR. Black Automotive, VNR, an industry expert. The session focused on Automobile AC systems used in different car models and their practical variations. The resource person explained the differences in AC system configuration, components, and servicing methods across various vehicles, and shared practical knowledge about AC troubleshooting and maintenance practices followed in automobile workshops.
The program was coordinated by Mr. A. Vignesh Moorthy Pandian and Mr. M. Nagendran, Assistant Professors, Department of Mechanical Engineering, who ensured the successful conduct of the training sessions.
