Inauguration Function of Women Empowerment Cell and Women’s Day Celebration

The Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) of AAA College of Engineering & Technology, Sivakasi was inaugurated on the 08th March, 2019 in the Women’s Day Celebration. The Inaugural function was invoked with Prayer by Ms. M. Angayarkanni and Ms. T. Sudha of III ECE followed by the dignitaries lighting the Kuthuvilakku. Ms. N. Haripriya of II Civil welcomed the gathering. Ms. M. Yuktha Shivani of I Premedical Course introduced the Chief Guest Dr. Rama Venkatesh. Our Chief Guest Dr. Rama Venkatesh is the person in a divine job of bringing happiness and joy in the lives of many childless infertile patients and is also serving the public for more than two decades as a Gynaecologist & Fertility specialist at the Lakshmi Hospital and Test tube Baby Centre, Sivakasi. Dr. R. Kalaivani, the coordinator of the WEC and Dr. J. Sutha, HOD, Department of Computer Science & Engineering honored our esteemed Trust members, Mrs. Grahalakshmi Karvannan and Mrs. Sasimala Ganesan. Our Trust members Mrs. Grahalakshmi Karvannan and Mrs. Sasimala Ganesan honored our Chief Guest Dr. Rama Venkatesh with a Shawl and memento.

The Chief Guest Dr. Rama Venkatesh delivered the girl students and women faculty of our college an awareness lecture on Women: Health and Hygiene. In her address, she insisted on the importance and pride of being born as a girl, transition from childhood to adolescence and achieving motherhood by all physical, mental and psychological means. She advised the participants about their diet, physical exercise, hygiene, respect to parents and also added about the most common health issues faced by today’s women with its simple solutions.

  1. Ashwini of III CSE and K. Subiksha of II CSE gave and oratorical performance on “Issues faced by today’s women and its Solutions” in Tamil and English respectively. Following this, the girls of our college performed various cultural events like Silambam, Mime on Women Empowerment, Dance performance narrating the life of a woman and Vocalists performing songs in praise of feminism. Our Chief Guest Dr. Rama Venkatesh appreciated the winners of Oratorical competition and participants of cultural events by distributing prizes. The note of gratitude was proposed by Shivani of III CSE and the programme was concluded with the National Anthem.
