Organized by TechNexus Students’ Technical Association

The Students’ Technical Association TechNexus of the Department of Information Technology organized a Parent Teacher Meeting for the II and III year students on October 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in Sir C.V. Raman Hall, located on the third floor of the Cambridge Block. The main objective of this meeting was to strengthen the communication and relationship between parents and faculty, ensuring that students receive the best possible support both academically and personally.

The event began with a warm and traditional welcome extended to all the parents by the faculty members. The parents arrived punctually and were received cordially, setting a pleasant and respectful tone for the day. The hall was well-prepared for the occasion, decorated simply yet elegantly to reflect the formal and cultural significance of the event. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation as parents, students, and faculty gathered together to discuss the progress and future of the young learners.

The meeting commenced with the lighting of the Kuthuvilakku, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the beginning of enlightenment. The lamp was lit by a parent of one of the meritorious students, signifying the collaborative bond between parents, teachers, and students in guiding the next generation toward success. This traditional gesture added a spiritual and cultural touch to the gathering, fostering a sense of unity and positivity among all attendees.

Following the lamp-lighting ceremony, Ms. M. Akalya, a student from III Year Information Technology, delivered the Welcome Address. She greeted the gathering with confidence and warmth, expressing her gratitude to all parents for their valuable presence and continuous support. In her address, she highlighted the importance of parent-teacher collaboration in shaping students’ discipline, character, and academic excellence. Her thoughtful words set a positive and engaging tone for the rest of the event.

After the welcome address, the Head of the Department of Information Technology addressed the gathering. She began by introducing herself and expressing her heartfelt appreciation for the parents’ participation. In her insightful speech, she discussed various aspects of modern education and the challenges faced by today’s generation of students. She elaborated on how the department focuses on not only academic excellence but also the overall development of students through technical activities, seminars, workshops, and placement training sessions.

The HoD also spoke about the importance of maintaining a balance between academics, health, and mental well-being. She emphasized that parents play an equally important role in motivating their wards, monitoring their progress, and encouraging them to develop essential life skills. Her address further covered topics such as placement opportunities, career prospects in emerging technologies, student participation in technical associations, and strategies to improve performance in university examinations. The speech was both inspiring and informative, leaving parents with a clearer understanding of the department’s efforts to nurture their children’s potential.

Following this, an award distribution ceremony was held to honor students who had achieved an all-clear status in the recent Anna University examinations. This proud moment was made even more special as the parents themselves were invited on stage to present medals to their wards.

The students walked up one by one to receive their medals, accompanied by applause from the audience. This symbolic act highlighted the joint effort of parents, teachers, and students in achieving academic success. It was a moment of joy and pride for both students and parents, celebrating hard work and dedication.

After the award distribution, parents were invited to share their feedback and opinions about the event and their child’s overall academic journey. Many parents expressed their gratitude towards the faculty for their constant guidance, encouragement, and mentoring.

They appreciated the department’s commitment to maintaining academic standards while also supporting the personal growth of students. Some parents shared valuable suggestions for further improvement in teaching methodologies and co-curricular activities.

The interactive session provided a healthy exchange of ideas and reinforced the sense of trust and cooperation between parents and the institution.

As the event neared its conclusion, Ms. G. Ramya from III Year IT delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing her sincere gratitude to all the dignitaries, parents, and students for making the event a memorable and successful one. She acknowledged the continuous efforts of the faculty members and student organizers of TechNexus for their dedication in arranging the event smoothly and efficiently.

The meeting concluded on a cheerful note with refreshments and snacks being served to all parents and students. This informal interaction period allowed parents to communicate freely with faculty members about their wards’ progress and clarify any concerns regarding academics or extracurricular involvement. The friendly atmosphere fostered mutual understanding and respect among all participants.

Overall, the Parent Teacher Meeting organized by TechNexus was a highly productive and engaging event. It provided a valuable platform for open communication, feedback, and collaboration between parents and faculty.
