The Department Advisory Committee (DAC) meeting of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering was conducted successfully with the participation of internal members, external academic experts, an industry representative, an alumni member, a student member, and faculty members.

Meeting Proceedings

The Head of the Department presented a comprehensive overview of the department covering vision and mission, academic performance, faculty profile, infrastructure, student achievements, research activities, and placement performance. The implementation of Outcome Based Education (OBE), CO–PO–PSO mapping, and attainment analysis were discussed in detail. Teaching–learning practices such as mentoring, remedial classes, innovative pedagogical approaches, and the use of ICT tools were also highlighted. The action plan for the academic year 2025–26 was presented.

The committee provided valuable suggestions to strengthen academic results through continuous mentoring and remedial measures, enhance placement readiness through aptitude training, coding practice, and soft-skill development, and integrate emerging technologies through value-added courses and certification programs. Emphasis was given to promoting research culture among faculty and students, improving industry interaction through internships and industry-sponsored projects, encouraging alumni mentoring, and adopting innovative teaching–learning methodologies such as project-based and experiential learning. The committee also recommended implementing community engagement initiatives aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Outcome

The DAC members appreciated the progress of the department and approved all the proposed academic, research, industry interaction, and outreach initiatives. The suggestions provided will be incorporated into the department’s action plan for continuous improvement.
