In adherence to the circular (Letter No. F.No.2-68/RD/2021-22) issued by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, the NSS Unit of AAACET successfully organized a comprehensive Cleanliness Awareness Campaign at the Government Hospital, Sivakasi on September 28, 2024. The primary objective of this initiative was to promote hygiene and cleanliness within and around the hospital premises and to educate the public on the detrimental effects of plastic usage, thereby fostering a cleaner and healthier environment for all. NSS volunteers cleaned the hospital and its surroundings, collecting plastic, paper, and other debris. All collected waste was meticulously segregated and then responsibly handed over to the Solid Waste Management Department. A highlight of the campaign was an impactful awareness skit performed by the NSS volunteers within the hospital premises. The skit vividly depicted the severe environmental and health impacts of plastic usage, particularly in public spaces like hospitals. The event not only resulted in a cleaner hospital environment but also effectively raised public awareness regarding cleanliness and sustainable waste management practices. The program was coordinated by NSS Coordinator Mr.S.Balamurugan and the Rotaract Club Coordinator Dr.R.Meby Selvaraj.
