As part of the SAEINDIA Collegiate Club Inaugural Programme held on 04 July 2026, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, AAA College of Engineering and Technology (AAACET), Amathur, organized a technical seminar on “Recent Developments in the Automobile Sector in India.” The session was delivered by Mr. N. Govindarajan, Analyst – Customs & Trade MP&L, Ford Motor Company, Chennai.

During the seminar, the resource person presented an informative overview of the rapid transformation taking place in the Indian automobile industry. He discussed the growing adoption of high-range and high-power electric vehicles (EVs), advancements in battery technologies, and the importance of second-life applications of electric vehicle batteries in promoting sustainability. He further explained the increasing use of automation in modern automobile manufacturing and highlighted the significant role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in smart mobility, intelligent production systems, predictive maintenance, and quality improvement.

The session provided students with valuable insights into current industrial practices, emerging technologies, and future trends in automobile engineering. Mr. Govindarajan encouraged students to continuously upgrade their technical knowledge, develop multidisciplinary skills, and remain adaptable to the rapidly evolving demands of the automotive sector. The interactive discussion enabled students to gain a better understanding of technological innovations and the career opportunities available in the automobile industry.

The seminar was conducted under the leadership of Dr. M. Sekar, Principal, and in the presence of Dr. S. S. Saravanakumar, Professor and Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering. The programme was coordinated by Mr. A. Vignesh Moorthy Pandian and Mr. M. Nagendran, Assistant Professors, Department of Mechanical Engineering. The seminar concluded with an engaging interaction between the speaker and students, making it a highly informative and enriching learning experience.
